Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how IDAM (idam.app) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Service.

1. Information we collect

Account data — email, display name, username, and (if you add them) bio, pronouns, date of birth, home city, avatar, website, and social links.
Content — the places you pin (with their coordinates), trips, visit layers, photos, videos, blogs, and itineraries.
Social graph — your follows, saves, likes, comments, and blocks.
Technical data — basic device/usage information needed to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use it

To provide core features (your globe, passport, trips, and feeds), to show content to the audiences you choose, to send notifications you enable, to keep your account secure, and to improve the Service.

3. Location data

Coordinates are central to IDAM — they exist to place your idams on the map. You choose each idam’s visibility. Your home city is shown on your passport only if you enable “Show my home city” in settings.

4. What others can see

Public idams and profiles are visible to anyone, including via your shareable link (idam.app/username). Followers-only content is limited to approved followers; private content is visible only to you. Blocking a user hides your content from them and theirs from you.

5. Storage & processing

Your data is stored with our infrastructure provider (Supabase) using row-level security so accounts can only access what they are permitted to. Map and geocoding requests are processed by third parties (OpenStreetMap, OpenFreeMap) per their policies.

6. Your choices & rights

You can edit your profile and privacy settings at any time, control notifications, request a data export, and delete your account from Settings. Account deletion is processed promptly and completed within 30 days.

7. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your content is removed and permanently deleted within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.

8. Children

IDAM is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
